Milioni di persone in America celebrano lo Spirit Day prendendo una posizione contro il bullismo e per mostrare il loro sostegno a lesbiche, gay, bisessuali e transgender (LGBT) i giovani. Osservato ogni anno dal 2010, individui di scuole, organizzazioni, aziende e personaggi pubblici indossano qualcosa di viola, che simboleggia lo ‘spirito’ sulla bandiera arcobaleno.
